Will Apple step down from being the most valuable company? - In January, Apple proved itself as the most worthwhile tech company with its $300 billion market capital. The giant American brand is also one of the most valued tech company and the second most valued overall, after Exxon.
The Race between Apple and Exxon
During the same period, Exxon was roughly $75 billion more than Apple. Over the period Exxon’s value has jumped past $400 billion. As Apple is gaining a steady momentum in the share market, it creates a big expectation among its followers. Considering the rise and fall in the prices in the oil industry and the steady growth happening with Apple products, some people tend to argue that Apple might just sneak in the number one spot on the long run.
Let’s give it to the Apple’s intelligence and assume that the great gadget giant still has an opportunity to come up as the world’s most valuable company. There are very strong statistics and proved results from Apple that forces people to believe in it. The unique styling and designing of its gadgets in the past, the ease of use, its quality and its richness have all contributed to Apple’s success.
Moreover, Apple’s future plans are awesome and are on their way to become the most valuable company. Here are a few things Apple is expected or rather rumored to come up with.
Apple will soon be releasing its new operating system OS X Lion.
A few rumors have also pointed at the arrival of the new MacBook Air. This would in turn be a big budget gain in the future.
There is also an argument over the arrival of the new iPhone 5 and the iOS 5. The confusion over which phone the platform will be installed – iphone 4S or the iphone 5 still exists among the Apple fans.
The fact that these devices will be released on both AT&T and Verizon (US) carriers at the same time is another thing that indicates the massive sales of its units that are due.
Apple’s plan to partner with China mobiles is yet another talk that has been in existence for a long time now.
Apple is also expected to prepare cheaper versions of the iPhone that can come out without contracts. This probably may not do well in the US where the policies are different but throughout the world, sales might see a big change.
Apple has always had the instinct to surprise people with their new devices. The next in line up is the iPad with a retina display.
All the above factors may tell you that Apple may just sneak past Exxon if the contentions lying ahead come true. Again this is not an easy task.
